For over fifty years Multipearl has offered the widest possible array of fine jewelry and today graduate gemologist Karen Schein proudly carries on the tradition of excellence and service established by her parents.

World War II found Herbert Schein, a young Austrian immigrant, living in Shanghai and dreaming of coming to America and operating a fine jewelry business. Years later his dream became a reality when he opened Multipearl in San Francisco and was joined behind the counter by his wife Lee.

The company quickly became a local tradition and started a new chapter when daughter Karen joined the firm. Today Multipearl carries a dazzling inventory of pearls, diamonds and the finest gemstones set in silver, gold and platinum. We also feature estate and vintage pieces and always maintain a distinctive stock.

As your jewelry consultant, we offer free consultations and look forward to meeting with you to discuss how we can assist in turning your desires into reality. Working with you, we can use your existing pieces and transform them into new custom pieces. We make all of our jewelry locally and strive to use recycled metal and stones.

We are committed to our customers’ complete satisfaction and welcome your questions.  Our family has appreciated your business for the past five decades and we look forward to a lifelong relationship with you.

Let us make your dreams come true.

Leah Schein

In 1955, predating many future tech companies, Leah Schein and her husband Herbert Schein started Multipearl in the garage of their Sunset District home. Multipearl was the perfect business to showcase Leah’s interest in design and her talent in creating beautiful pieces of jewelry.
